TEXARKANA, Texas (August 3, 2024) – Texarkana was unable to keep up with the consistent scoring of the TimberHogs. Piney Woods scored in each of the first six innings as they went on to win 11-6.

Texarkana trailed five runs to zero when they scored their first run of the game. Rylan Evans drove in the Rhinos first run with an RBI double that allowed Sota Suzuki to score. Next, Rylan Evans scored on a single hit by Lane Epperson that fell in center field. Later in the inning, Neil Jansen scored when the catcher attempted to catch him stealing third base but threw the ball out into left field.

The next run for Texarkana came in the bottom of the fifth inning when they trailed 9-3. Both runs came due to struggles on the mound. Aiden Otano walked with the bases loaded to bring home the first run, and then a wild pitch allowed Lane Epperson to score for the second run.

The final run of the game for Texarkana was part of their final attempt to come back in the ninth inning. Neil Jansen singled to start the effort, then quickly made his way to third base by stealing. Aiden Otano then got his second RBI of the game when he hit a ground ball to the third baseman, and Jansen took advantage of the opportunity to score.

Texarkana could not get any other momentum behind themselves and fell 11-6 in the end. Cade Medlin got the win for the TimberHogs, and the loss went to the Rhinos’ starter, Dalton Graham.
