The Abilene Flying Bison outlasted the Texarkana Rhinos 7-3 on Wednesday, May 29.
Catcher Kyle Dekerf (1-for-4), shortstop Rylan Evans (2-for-2), and left fielder Christian Rosales (0-for-4) each had RBIs for the Rhinos. Leadoff CF Wyatt Cunningham 1-for-5 and scored a run. Second baseman Sota Suzuki had two hits and right fielder Yuto Minura 1-for-4.
Rhinos starting pitcher Landon Richey allowed six runs in four innings before Antonio Sabala went four more, allowing one run and striking out seven batters.
Abilene starting pitcher Aiden White went 4.1 innings, walked five, gave up four hits, and two runs. Blake Delong earned his first save of the season going two frames, allowing only one hit and striking out two.
Designated Hitter Tristen Wittau and Right Fielder A. Detlefsen each had 2 hits and an RBI for the Flying Bison. Left Fielder J. Illingwor drove in two runs and Centerfielder Jack Cue hit an RBI single, stole two bases, and scored as many runs.
Texarkana falls to 1-3 and Abilene improves 5-0. First pitch is set for 7:15pm Thursday at Walt Driggers Field. The Rhinos return home for the season-opening home-stand on Friday, May 31 to host a 3-game series vs. the Fort Smith Marshals.
Tuesday’s game was postponed due to weather, it will be made up June 25th in Abilene.
