TEXARKANA, Texas (August 7th, 2024) – Texarkana fell behind early in the final game of the three-game series and never responded to the output of Abilene as they were run-ruled in seven innings.
The game ended after just seven innings as Abilene took the lead in the first inning and dominated all the way throughout.
Texarkana’s only hits and runs of the entire game were contained within a single inning. Carter Harris started the third inning with a single into right field. Sota Suzuki then quickly pushed Harris into scoring position with an infield single. Then, Rylan Evans hit a stand-up double down the left field line to drive home Harris and move Suzuki to third base. A wild pitch then allowed Suzuki to score and let Evans make his way 90 feet closer to scoring. A single up the middle by Lane Epperson then brought home Evans for the Rhinos third and final run of the game.
The dominant performance throughout the game was largely due to the performances of Pearson Pollard and Kyle Williams on the mound for Abilene. Both pitchers stood on the mound for three innings each. Pollard allowed three runs during his time, while Kyle Williams had a no-hit appearance for his team.
