Where Baseball is TONS of Fun!

WHITE OAK, Texas (August 9, 2024) – Both teams started the game showing off offensive firepower in a shootout that eventually ended 15-10 in favor of Texarkana. 

Texarkana scored in each of the first six innings, with the highlight of these six innings being a five-run top of the fourth. Coming into the fourth, the TimberHogs lead 7-4. The first run of the inning was driven in on an RBI single from Yuto Mimura. Next, Tahj Cunningham scored on a single into right field from Simon Baker. Yuto Mimura then scored on a single off the bat of Gabe Baker. The Rhinos continued the inning by getting the bases loaded, and Eli Selby drew a walk to allow Simon Baker to score. Jonathan Rios then followed up this result by getting his second hit of the inning to score Rylan Evans. 

After scoring five runs in the fourth, Texarkana continued their push forward by adding three more runs to their total over the next two innings. Going into the seventh inning, Texarkana led the game 12-7.

In the top of the ninth, Texarkana solidified the dominant win by tacking on three more runs. The first two runs came on a double that found its way to the ground in right field. The two runs were scored by Jonathan Rios and Mason Sellers. Tahj Cunninghame then scored on an error for the Rhinos 15th run of the game. 

Gabe Baker pitched 5.2 innings for Texarkana in pursuit of his first win of the season. During his time on the mound, he allowed eight hits and four runs, but overall, he did enough to earn the win for his team.
